How do Ink Cartridges Work?
Although, it is not necessary to know and understand how ink cartridges work in order to know how to put them in your printer, print, and be done, it can be helpful in case you have problems with your ink cartridge or printer. Basically, within the ink cartridge there is a heating element that has a tiny plate. When the printer gives a signal to the thing that holds the ink cartridges, a small current will flow through the plate, which is what causes the heat. The heat buildup melts the ink, so to speak. The ink is then forced out of the cartridge nozzle on the paper. The entire process only takes a few milliseconds to complete, and the next then you know is you page is finished printing.
