Will Linux ever surpass Microsoft?
The little program started by Linus Torvalds over 10 years ago has really grown. Linux has become both an excellent Enterprise operating system and a tool that can be used by the average user as well. Though the desktop interface may not yet be as crisp as that of Windows Vista or the Macintosh, improvements are being made every day. The main advantage of Linux is the army of free programmers from all over the world that care for it. Though Microsoft’s mighty R&D budget will always give it an advantage, in building operating systems, it hard to argue agains an open source alternative whose source code is available to everyone so that bugs can easily be found.
