Did you know that diet can cause ADHD?
In many cases children diagnosed with ADHD have been found to have the symptoms they have because of what they are eating. Too much sugar, or stimulants (like caffeine found in coffee, iced tea, chocolate and so on) can cause hyperactivity. Vitamin deficiency can cause irritability, lack of focus, and problems feeling normal. If you think your child may have ADHD you should take steps to first itemize their diet and assess what their eating at home, at school, and at friends houses. An ADHD diet should consist of low sugar, high vitamin rich foods like fruit and vegetables, low carbs and stay away from processed foods if you can. You may find the cure right there in their diet and a simple shift to a balanced and nutritional diet may actually remove the problem!
